==Biography==
Dark Elves are infamous for shunning the surface world of their high cousins and being as treacherous to their own kin as other races. Nevertheless, co-operation is not impossible, as proven historically between the drow and dwarfs who shared the tunnels under Mt. Melior, but generally there is a lot of distrust if there isn't straight-up hostility. Nevertheless, with murmurings of a great demonic threat stirring within the Underdark that threatens kingdoms high and low, one Lolthian branch of drow has braved the blinding sun and approached a nearby city with offerings of an alliance against their unseen enemy, unaware that the city state is an unwilling vassal to the Empire of Harabec, who have their own problems with a Kiaransaleean sect... not that dark-elven politics concern King Housmeld. As a result, the pact is tenuous at best, and many citizens would much prefer the ashen-haired rogues return to the place from whence they came.

==Most Suitable Roles==
Dark-Elves biggest claim to fame is the massive mana pool granted by their 21 base Wisdom, making then excellent party [[Cleric]]s and self-sufficient [[Mage]]s.

Dark-Elves boast a good strength-to-dexterity ratio at 19/20 and so can hit just as a hard as a human but more consistently. Coupled with their damage bonus in shady areas, they make excellent [[Thief|Thieves]] when confined to such zones, especially as [[Assassinate]] gains an additional +10% damage and chance-to-hit bonus on top of the racial bonus.

Unfortunately, Dark-Elves have a large down-side in that their 17 Constitution make them glass cannons. Dark-Elven Mages, for all their MP, have much lower HP than other classes, and they often have lower survivability on the surface. Their low Charisma hampers the strength of incoming heal spells and makes [[Depurate Undead]] much weaker as a compromise for their own powerful heal spells.
